Today, Friday 16 August, there is widespread coverage of yesterday’s A level results day in the media.

It includes a number of reports on the increase in uptake in girls taking science subjects. The Times, i, Telegraph, Mail, Sun, Independent, and Metro all lead with the fact more girls are now taking science subjects than boys.

The Times carries a feature piece about Kings Maths School, which encourages pupils to embrace their skills and has secured more A* grades than any other school as a result.
